The Museum is an ideal location for school field trips that are both educational and fun! We can help tailor a visit just for your group based on any of our special exhibits, permanent collections, Planetarium, or Arboretum.
High school-aged groups receive a more in-depth look at the chosen topics. From art to fossils your students will get up-close and personal with the galleries of your choosing. For these tours we recommend 30-45 minutes per gallery.
School tours are available Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
For grades 9-12 we ask that you bring one adult for every 20 students. All chaperones must stay with their group while rotating through The Museum galleries. Behavior of your group while at The Museum is the responsibility of your group chaperones.
Feed Their Imagination: Grant assistance is available through The Reading Public Museum's Feed Their Imagination program. Thanks to our generous donors, we are proud to be able to offer funds to help students of all ages and backgrounds come to The Museum. With many schools having to eliminate field trips and other special programs due to budget cuts, this grant opportunity is more important than ever. Grants are available for all public, private, and parochial schools during designated times of the year. Opportunities for other groups are possible as well. Contact us to apply for a Feed Their Imagination grant.
