The Reading Public Museum offers scheduled workshops and overnights that align with its mission and the requirements for various  Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and Scouts BSA, badges, adventures and awards. 

The Museum is the perfect place for your scouts to visit and workshop! From our collections featuring a 2,000-year-old mummy to art from around the world, to our 25-acre Arboretum, to our state-of-the-art Neag Planetarium, we have many incredible experiences to share with your scouts. All workshops are led by qualified, enthusiastic Museum Educators.

What we offer:

• Private In-Person Workshops and Overnights for Girl Scouts. Choose from our complete list of scout programs. Click here for program request form containing all details, options, and pricing. Registration is required. Call or email today to book your troop's Private workshop. 

• Scheduled Scout Events for Girl Scouts. Choose to come to The Museum for a pre-scheduled workshop! See below for current workshops, dates, and times. Click the appropriate link to register under each event. Registration is required.
***PLEASE NOTE***: Some workshops are scheduled through Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania and some are scheduled through The Museum. Pricing for GSEP program partner events are set and underwritten by GSEP.

• To-Go Kits for Girl Scouts: If your troop is uncomfortable with in-person programming or you have a scout that is unable to attend a program, then a To-Go Kit may be the answer! Each kit includes instructions and materials for 1 scout to complete a badge or journey activities. Available for select badges and journesy. Click here for details

• Other Club and Scouting Organizations: Are you a member of another scouting group, club, or organization? Contact us to schedule a workshop or overnight tailored to your organization and achievement requirements.

GSUSA Scheduled Events 2022-2023

All scheduled events require registration. A minimum of 1 adult must accompany every 10 scouts. Indivicula scouts must be accompanied by an adult regardless of age. Each group must agree to comply with all of Reading Public Museum's current health and safety protocols.

Workshop fees include materials, instruction, admission to The Museum during public hours the day of the event, and appropriate badge or award.

Overnight fees also include our "I Slept at Reading Public Museum" event patch, evening snack, and a light continental breakfast.

Registration closes 1 week prior to the date of the program. Minimum enrollment must be met for the program to run. Program fees are non-refundable. The Museum reserves the right to cancel a program at any time; refunds will be at the discretion of The Museum.

Do you have what it takes to Think Like an Engineer? Join us at The Museum and find out! This overnight experience will introduce you to one of the history's greatest engineers, Leonardo DaVinci, while you learn about the engineering process and earn the workshop portion of your journey! Take Action Project is not included. Fee includes free time in The Museum, evening snack, light contintntal breakfast, event patch, and appropriate award.

Hear stories, try games, make heritage crafts and even try your hand at surviving our new exhibit, American Adventure 1607!
