Step into the world of the early 1970s with the gritty street photographs of Daniel D. Teoli, Jr. of West Virginia.

This engaging exhibition features twenty-one photographs taken by Teoli, documenting incredible array of people and urban scenes he encountered. The subjects of the photographs reflect the cultural and social diversity of the city. The photographer studied at California State University, Los Angeles and cites photographers Lisette Model, Robert Frank, Mary Ellen Mark, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Irving Penn, and Diane Arbus, among others, as influences. “What you see is what you get,” is the artist’s philosophy for his work, adding “If I had to sum up my interest in photography…it must stem from a liking to be able to ‘freeze time.’” Teoli’s work can be found in the collections of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Rhode Island School of Design, Flint Institute of Art, Amherst College, and the International Center of Photography.

Please note: Peephole will be closed on Monday, October 9 from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. due to a private event. Thank you.
