Museum Discovery Camp 2022

Keep your child learning while having fun this summer! Museum Discovery Camp is for children entering grades 1 – 5 in the fall of 2022 (*unless otherwise specified). Camp days are from 9am – 4pm.

Please fill out the registration form and see our behavior expectation policy.

Camp Weeks and Topics 

Week 1: Full STEAM Into Summer (6/13-6/17) – Full STEAM ahead into summer! Our first week of the season will kick-off summer in full scientific, technological, engineering, artistic and mathematical regalia!

Week 2: Camp-ology I (6/20-6/24) – Each day this week will feature a different topic or –ology! Amongst other things, we will look into the universe while studying cosmology, explore the stars and astrology, and learn about some amazing mythology.

SOLD OUT - Waiting List Open - Week 3: Wild Nature! (6/27-7/1) – Let’s go outdoors! Get your hands dirty with us during camp as we explore gardens, trees, and get a little wild with nature!

**Short Camp Week/Special Pricing** Week 4: Mars-bound: Space Tech (7/5-7/8) *grades 4-8* – How do we get to Mars? For millennia humans have looked-up and asked that question. This STEM-based shortened specialty week will look at some of the challenges that scientist are faced with in their quest to colonize the red planet – and who knows, maybe discover some solutions!

SOLD OUT - Week 5: It’s Craft-tastic! (7/11-7/15) – Craft your way through the centuries as we look at heritage arts through modern crafts during this exciting maker camp!

Week 6: Amazing Life on Earth! (7/18-7/22) – Our planet is unique in so many ways – but the most amazing thing about Earth is that it is full of LIFE! This camp will explore how plants and animals, including humans, sustain life and what it means to be ALIVE!

Week 7: Meet me at The Museum! (7/25-7/29) – Arts, Culture, Ancient History, Natural History, Fossils, Gardens, Outer Space – The Museum has it all! This week we will delve into The Museum’s collections, Planetarium and Arboretum!

Week 8: Master of the Arts (8/1-8/5) – The best way to learn anything is to study the masters! During this camp you will look at some of the masters of art, learn new techniques, and make some amazing masterpieces of your own!

SOLD OUT - Week 9: Camp-ology II (8/8-8/12) – From archeology to paleontology to volcanology and everything in between – this week will dig into the world around us as we discover Earth’s (and our) past, present, and future!

Week 10: Shh! It’s a Surprise! (8/15-8/19) – Jump start your brain for school while enjoying the last bits of summer at camp! We have a little something for everyone during this potpourri week as we explore topics from art to zoology! It’s going to be a great week to learn and have fun!

All campers must be preregistered. Registration closes the Monday prior to the start of the camp week. All monies and completed forms must be submitted by that time or registration cannot be guaranteed.
