Purchase Party 2025 – Pennsylvania Artists: Collecting the Commonwealth

The Museum’s Permanent Collection of paintings, sculptures, cultural, scientific materials, and more was started in 1904 and has been growing ever since. The Purchase Party offers an opportunity to vote on the next artwork to be added to the collection, offering a unique occasion to directly affect what is displayed on the gallery walls and preserved for our community to enjoy for generations to come.

This year’s Purchase Party, Pennsylvania Artists: Collecting the Commonwealth, celebrates the talent and tradition of Pennsylvania artists. Candidates for acquisition will be brought to Reading and displayed for the evening. Guests will enjoy fine wines from a private cellar, catered hors d’oeuvres, live harp music, and lively presentations from advocates for each artwork before casting their votes. The winner will be announced at the end of the evening, and be purchased by The Museum.
