As a result\, we will be hosting special sensory-inclusive hours for guests and their caretakers who require a quieter atmosphere to explore The Museum. Guests who pre-register will receive a pre-visit packet with information to share with their dependent. \nRegistration is Suggested. Email Becky to sign up for this program. \nThis program is FREE for Members and FREE with Museum or Planetarium admission. \nDon’t see what you’re looking for?\nPrivate sensory hours can be scheduled by contacting Becky in the education department at becky.ruth@readingpublicmuseum.org.  Private sensory hours must be scheduled at least 2 weeks in-advance and will be an additional $50/hr. fee and have a maximum attendance of 8 guests.

Using our existing knowledge and exciting inquiry-based science\, we will discover how truly amazing nature is!\n\n\nJuly 20-24: Maker Mania\n\nCalling all builders\, tinkerers\, and creators! This week will challenge you to design\, test\, and build all types of creations. SUMMARY:Sensory Fireworks
DESCRIPTION:Bring your friends and family out to The Neag Planetarium for our community-favorite event\, Sensory Fireworks! This event has been designed for the young and young at heart who are unable to enjoy the traditional firework show experiences that are shown for Independence Day due to the flashes of lights and/or loud boom sounds. Our staff will be on hand with special sensory bags for guests to borrow\, if needed. We will also have a couple of crafts that families can enjoy before or during the special planetarium firework shows. \nWe encourage you to bring your own blankets to lay in the middle of our Planetarium dome! If you prefer to sit in a chair\, we will have our regular planetarium chairs available as well. Please leave any toys\, holiday accessories\, and clothing or shoes that have flashing lights at home as these may impact others’ enjoyment of the show. Thank you for understanding. \nWe will have four separate showings this year for this event: \nJuly 2 at 5:30 pm & 7 pm \nJuly 3 at 5:30 pm & 7 pm \n  \nREGISTRATIONS ARE REQUIRED AS SEATING IS LIMITED.
