WELCOME!
Message from the Director

Philanthropy is the lifeblood of our museum. Generous
support of the
Annual Fund guarantees
the Museum will remain a relevant and exciting
place for our visitors, one that provides them
with rare opportunities to experience the awe
and wonder only a great Museum can provide. It
also assures that its world class art and science
collections—among the most important in
the United States—will continue to be accessible
to future generations.
In 2007, school groups visited in large numbers:
190 school visits brought 7,078 students to the
Museum to view both special exhibitions and permanent
collections. The Museum’s professionally
trained Gallery Teachers gave 123 tours to student
groups while other groups were led by individual
classroom teachers. The newly renovated Planetarium
presented 178 programs to 4,385 students, providing
them with unforgettable stellar experiences.
In short, the Museum provides educational enrichment
to hundreds of schools in central Pennsylvania,
and it is through philanthropy that we can continue
to offer these vital services.
Can we count on your support this year?
