Welcome
to the Friends of the Reading Museum! Established
since 1965, the Friends of the Reading Museum
served primarily to aid in the advancement,
improvement and expansion of the Museum.
At that time, operation of the museum was
under the Reading School District, which
ran the Museum for the benefit of the school
teachers and students. The Friends mission
was to promote the Museum to the general
public and establish it as a cultural resource
worthy of the interest and patronage of
all residents of the area.
While
the school and student interaction still
remains a large part of the Museum's focus,
the Board of Directors of the Friends of
the Reading Museum are also currently involved
in many other facets of the Museum which
promote activities and programs for the
benefit of all Museum members.
The
Friends work together with the Foundation
for the Reading Public Museum to attract,
educate and entertain Museum members. The
Friends of the Reading Museum sponsor member
benefits such as bus trips, festivals, exhibits,
receptions, concerts and the publication
of a bimonthly newsletter and calendar of
events, Among Friends.
Join
your Museum today, enjoy the benefits of
membership and become a "Friend of
the Reading Museum."
