Join the Reading Public Museum on an exciting trip to the Museum of Modern Art in New York City to view Edgar Degas: A Strange New Beauty. This major exhibition, focusing on Edgar Degas’s (1834–1917) extraordinary and rarely seen monotypes and their impact on his wider practice, Edgar Degas: A Strange New Beauty is the first exhibition in the U.S. in nearly 50 years to examine these radical, innovative works—and The Museum of Modern Art’s first monographic exhibition of the artist. It will feature approximately 130 monotypes along with some 50 related works, including paintings, drawings, pastels, sketchbooks, and prints, to be seen only at MoMA.
One of the included works is a seldom seen work by Degas in the collection of the Reading Public Museum!
Your day will include free time at MOMA upon arrival, a sit down lunch at MOMA’s The Modern. Lunch will be followed by a special guided tour of the Degas exhibition led by the exhibition curator: Senior curator, Department of Prints and Drawings, MOMA - Jodi Hauptman.
Reservations required by March 21.
Cost includes transportation, museum admission, lunch, and guided tour
*Should The Museum need to cancel any of the bus trips due to inclement weather, a full refund will be issued.
